What you’ll make:

  • Two starters- Smoked Salmon with Homemade Soda Bread and a Jerusalem Artichoke Salad with Truffle, Cavolo Nero and Goat’s Cheese
  • Traditional Christmas Dinner
  • Christmas Pudding
  • Mini Mince Pies
  • A Festive Wreath

Course content:

Take the stress out of Christmas day. Through demonstrations and group cooking, we will cover making two delicious starters, a full Christmas Dinner and Christmas pudding, complete with Mini Mince Pies- the perfect treat for Santa. This way Christmas morning will be as relaxing as possible to spend with the family opening presents and watching a Christmas movie.

After the turkey demonstration the class will be split in two. One half will join Tracy from Chine, Kensal Rise where she will use her expertise in floristry, fashion and interior styling to take you through making your own wreath ready to hang on your front door or use as a table centre. You can decorate it completely to your taste using a varied selection of decorations from the traditional to contemporary, to the positively wacky. Chat through your creative ideas for all your Christmas home decorating and have a laugh.

The other half of the class will learn how to make contemporary starters, mince pies, Christmas pudding and accompaniments for the turkey. After a light lunch the groups will swap activities, coming together at the end to enjoy the feast you have been making all day.

You will leave with a full set of recipes including breakdown of timings along with a few goodies and the wreath to take away. The whole day will be relaxing, fun and leave you feeling pampered.

What to expect:

On arrival tea, coffee and fresh pastries will be ready for you to enjoy.  You are welcome to arrive early and stroll around the house, leaf through the cookery books in the library or wonder around the garden weather permitting.

The course starts promptly at 10am.

In the morning, you will join Sophie and Karen in prepping the Turkey before splitting into two groups. One group will make their very own wreaths, while the other group will make Christmas Puddings and Mini Mince Pies to take home, along with the starters and accompaniments for the festive feast.

Lunch will be served together with a glass of champagne, non-alcoholic fizz or soft drinks.

Following lunch, the two groups will swap activities.

At the end of the day, we will show you how to present the dishes and you will sit down to a full Christmas dinner, served with wine or soft drinks, the perfect opportunity to catch up with your course mates and compare your own Christmas traditions and techniques!
