Let’s Bake Bread & Pizza

Bread & Pizza Making Course content:

A five hour course that will give you an insight into the wonderful world of bread making. Making an everyday loaf and a homemade Artisan Margherita pizza. Held by Karen and Sophie who will share their vast experience of baking, after a day you will be hooked on making your own bread and pizza. You will learn about flour types, yeast, how to maintain a sourdough starter, the fermentation process, mixing, proving, shaping and baking.  

What to expect:

On arrival tea, coffee and fresh pastries will be ready for you to enjoy.  You are welcome to arrive early and stroll around the house, leaf through the cookery books in the library or wonder around the garden weather permitting and play with the kittens.

The course starts promptly at 10am.

In the morning, you will join Sophie and Karen in making a sourdough and starting the pizza dough.  You will then make your own Pain de Mie loaf and also your sourdough pizza dough, which will be left to rest.

While the bread is baking, we will break for a light lunch.  After lunch you will top your pizzas and bake them.

You will take home a recipe booklet, dough scraper, your own Pain de Mie loaf and homemade pizza, plus a pot of sourdough starter to start you off at home.
