Let’s Bake Pastry, Quiches & Pies

  • Caramelised onion & thyme sausage rolls (rough puff pastry)
  • Sweet Frangipane Tart (sweet pastry)

Course content:

Perfect your pastry with Let’s Bake Pastry, Quiche & Pies.

In this class you’ll master making both shortcrust and puff pastry, discovering how such a versatile ingredient can be the base for so many flavours.

We’ll be teaching you to make classic Quiche, a sweet Frangipane tart, and a beautiful puff pastry pie, filled with vegetables and cheese.

What to expect:

On arrival tea, coffee and fresh pastries will be ready for you to enjoy.  You are welcome to arrive early and stroll around the house, leaf through the cookery books in the library or wonder around the garden weather permitting and play with the kittens.

The course starts promptly at 10am.

In the morning, you will join Sophie and Karen who will talk you through how to make the best shortcrust savoury pastry and rough puff pastry together with a sweet pastry.  You will make your own pastry quiches and a rough puff pie.

You will break for a late lunch and enjoy quiche and salad together with wine/ soft drink or mocktail.

Following lunch, you will make some sweet tarts and enjoy tasting a few sweet treats while we box up your bakes to take home.

You will take home a recipe booklet, scraper and all your bakes.
